Cortney Puza, Owner and Director of MTDS began her formal dance training at a young age in her hometown, Southwick, Massachusetts, where she danced competitively for 14 years at Regional and National levels. She has won a series of High Scoring Awards at competitions such as The American Dance Awards, Dance Masters of America, Kids for Kids and more.
Over the past eight years, Cortney has taught dance for a number of studios in the Western Massachusetts area as well as the South Shore area, with a focus in contemporary, jazz and acrobat. At the age of 20, she was recognized at the Star Power Dance Competition in 2014 for an award in "Outstanding Choreography" for her Contemporary piece titled "Skin" in the 12 to 14 years old category.
In May of 2015, Cortney received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance Education from Bridgewater State University. As a 4-year member of the BSU Dance Team, she held an Executive Board Position for three years and was an active choreographer for the team's annual performance. In 2014, the team was named 10th in the Nation at the Universal Dance Association Nationals in Disney World. Cortney has also interned at The Dance Complex in Cambridge, MA, a prestigious dance company in the Greater Boston area.
Cortney's passion lies in providing her students with the best dance education possible. While shaping them into elite dancers, she also has a desire to give them the guidance they need inside and outside the classroom. She takes pride in Motion being a professional environment for her students to grow and progress. She hopes to continue to share her love and knowledge of dance to current and future students.
Andrea Souza began her dance training at the age of six and soon became a competitive dancer for several years. She has trained in multiple genres of dance; specializing in contemporary and hip hop.
Andrea completed her Bachelor's of Science in Psychology in May of 2015 from Bridgewater State University, where she was a member of the BUS Dance Team for three years. While part of the team, she held the position of Vice President for the 2014-2015 season. In 2014, the team was ranked tenth in the nation at the Universal Dance Association Collegiate nationals in Disney World. Andrea is a former member of BSU Dance Ensemble and Static Noyze Dance Company out of Boston. She takes pride in sharing her knowledge and passion for dance with her students and colleagues.
